Really bad media from my experience. PI Failures aren't so bad, but PI Errors are through the roof. PIE ramped up to 400+ with spikes nearing 1500. I burned at 4x and did a disc quality scan at 4x CLV. I imagine that this will be readable from my DVD player, but with skips here and there. The media will definitely not survive the test of time.

So for the price I grabbed up a few I have about 350 more but I went back yesterday to get some and they were sold out. Rebate was suppose to be good until august, so keep your eye out. I figured they would stock them until the rebate was over guess not.
It seems to print well I have an Epson R300. But as I said don't get the - they are alot porer quality.

I purchased this media thinking it would be TDK brand and it was CMC Mag disks branded for TDK. These do not work with my Toshiba Burner and no new firmware is available. Toshiba has closed its optical disc plant so thats it, no newer firmware to address 8x CMC disks.

I used the laptop's dvd recorder (toshiba) and a 7 drives duplicator. I had problems with few of them at max speed, lowered the writing speed, and no problem since then. It looks like they start to exfoliate around the central hole after several use (in an out of the case).

Solved my compatibility problems with this media and my Lite-On SOHW-1693S. I installed codeguys KC4B hacked firmware for improved +/-R burn quality and now this media burns just fine.

After burning some additional disc I found that this medias is crappy. I think I will never buy this media again.
Even though disks burnerd with a Lite-On SOHW-1693S @ 4x, 6x and 8x, play OK. Quality scans show low results.
These disks play fine now, but I do not know how log are they going to remain playable.
Becuase of this I decided to burn all discs with my older HP DVD200i, with MP5125 firmware ver 1.72.
The best burns so far, were made with this older HP DVD writer.
If you like quality I would recomend burning this media at 2,4x or 4x

Bought at Fred Meyer on sale for $17.99, after burning at 8X and verifying with nero and DVD inf pro, the disk had read errors and would not play at all im my Apex stand alone. burning at 2.4X the disk was readable in PC with out errors, but would skip and freeze in Apex player. Excellent burn quality--I have purchased Memorex DVD+R 8x media in the past with this same media code and they performed similarly. Excellent results on my PX-716A, DVR-109, DW1620, TS-H552U, 4163B and 4160B recorders that I tested them on, all running the latest firmware. Best results on the PX-716A, despite PowerRec cutting the speed down to 6x and then 4x beyond the 4G mark. Generally very low PIE and PIF levels, and low jitter levels albeit higher on the LG burners.

Picked up these blank DVD's by accident thinking I had got the better ones made by Ricoh; only to discover the media code was a CMC MAG. I kind of wondered why the cake box appeared different than all the others on the shelf. All 50 of them burned perfectly and played in every player I have tried them in. I get absolutely no skipping, audio problems, or pixelizations in my movies. I probably wouldn't hesitate to buy again if thats all that was available on sale! Some of the videos have been watched over and over again, around 23 times to be exact without problems since they were recorded.

I have used 120 of these so far and have never burned a coaster yet, other than a few that were my fault.
DVD-R authored and .iso made movies play flawless in all listed players except the Sony listed (skip-stop-restart-or 'dirty disk code' flashed) problems.
Most used as DVD-ROM storage (about 100 so far). Every one had auto error check after the burn and 100% success rate.
DIVX and XVID files stored on DVD-ROMs play 100% in either SONY (Writer or ROM) installed in the computer, and about 90% in the Yamaha DV-S5750 Console. The other 10% don't play due to incompatable codec settings by their creators.

& have had about 10% failure rate. I have found that when I close all Screen Savers, Instant Messengers, Internet connections, Firewalls, Virus Scanners & such that the Failure rate drops significantly.
I have an Atholon XP 2500 (1833MHz) on a ABIT KV7 VIA KT600-8237 with 1 512MB PC3200 DIMM.

Crap media. Only made toasters. Tried 8x and 4x. Nero 6.6 and Plextools. Plextools autostrategy basically said the same, unable to write without errors at 8x, 6x and 4x. I'm returning to BestBuy and worse case I'll accept the 15% restocking fee for "missing" product items.

I bought 25 count spindle from circuit city for $7.95 but the burn results were terrible with only 1 out of 8 burning correctly. The bad spindle was made in Taiwan and the code is CMC MAG.E01. I tried another set of Taiwan disks which also failed... again made in Taiwan. Then I found a set (also at Circuit city) that were made in Japan (id YUDEN000T02) that worked great with 49 out of 50 burning correctly. My suggestion is that if you are going to continue to use the CyberHome writer to be very careful as to what disks you buy - even the country of manufacture. Even when Nero said the disk burn was successful, the disk would not play (except one time) in either of my three computers or the dvd player. I didn't have that problem with the Disks made in Japan (ID YUDEN000T02)

Two disks had noticeable mars that looked like they were caused by metal shavings. Burned a total of six disks before giving up - skips, lots of garbage. I had similar results with Philips CMC disks. I've had excellent results with Sony and will buy them from now on.

Play perfectly on my Sony DAV-C770 Home Theater
However, just found out it doens't behave well when I tried to duplicate it with the Sony DW-U14A that was used to burn it. DVDDecryptor / DVD Shrink / Media Player Classic all acted funny due to error in reading data. It happened on ALL discs, after reboot of my PC for many times, and upgrade of DVD+R firmware. I'm 100% sure it's the media that's having problems.
Had good experience with previous purchase of TDK 4X DVD+R, but that was RICOHJPN and this 8X is made by CMC... Arrrgh.. I hate CMC, which makes junks more than useful stuffs.

Burn problems were dependent on the DVD BURNER I USED.
Excellent reliable burns using Pioneer DVR-108. Burning with DVD decrypter @ speed "MAX", the burn speed begins at 6x then climbs eventually to 12x burn rate. Total burn time is 7 minutes for a full 4.3 GB image. Also used Roxio Creator Classic to burn a data disc, 4.25 GB, no errors after the disc finished verifying, same 7 min. burn speed. Video DVDs play flawlessly.
Good results also, using older Sony DRU-510a. Was able to burn at full 8X speed, no errors with DVD Decrypter or Roxio Creator Classic.
BAD RESULTS using the newer Sony DRU-710a. 3/10 disks were coasters and video DVDs had massive stuttering in both my Sony DVP-F21 and Toshiba SD-3960.

Purchased at Best Buy 11/15/04 for $9.99 for 25 pk.
Out of the 8 disks I've tried so far, all 8 failed. Nice set of coasters! For these 8 attempts, I tried 2 different burners (Lite-on DVD411S, Cyberhome DX162D-A), 3 different software apps (Nero, Roxio, DVD decrypter writing an ISO), and 2 different speeds (8X, 4X).
I've had great success with other TDK DVD+R's but they were RICOHJPN-R01-02, not these CMC's.
