I seem to be at odds with many of the comments on here about these discs. I've now used hundreds of them for making DVD video and as data for DivX. I've had very few failures, the discs have worked in a variety of players of different make without problems.
Perhaps I've just been lucky, burnt on the pc in an NEC ND-4550a. Work with my Liteon 5045 too, but I very rarely burn to anything other than re-writable on this machine, so only a few Tesco DVD-Rs tried. Plays them without problems.

Will not burn - message displayed in nero 7.0 illegal disc. Used sonic recordnow messaged displayed bad media. Could be a dodgy batch of discs, have used them before with no problems.

Very poor with only 1 in 10 producing a good burn. Suspected drive but got this replaced and still the same burn success rate. Tried burning at 2x upto 4x (max recognised by drive).
Discs regularly failed to finish the burn and those that did skip during playback

Of the 30 or so of these I've burned, every single one has been successful at 2x, and every single one has worked first time on my PS2, which seems to be contrary to what others have been reporting.
I was pleasantly surprised to say the least as I bought these with the intention that they would be cheap throwaway rubbish.
No apparent degredation as of yet, but it's still early days.

contary to belief, they DO work in a PS2. with a sucessful burn. the difficult part is getting a sucessful burn. even when they dont work in a PS2 they will work nicely in an average stand alone player. purchased 200 of these all together. used about 100. had roughly 80 sucessful burns and 20 unsucessful ones. not bad
