Make sure there is no disc in the player.
Turn on the player
Wait for "No Disc" message to appear on the TV screen.
Press the Repeat button on remote (plain, not A-B).
For a region 2 player, press this sequence of buttons of remote (FF = fast forward, FR = fast rewind.)
FF, FR, FF, UP, DOWN
If you pressed the correct sequence, a small white number 0 will appear somewhere on the top left of the screen.
Turn the player off and on again, and it should now be multi-region.

I was not able to find a direct sequence for converting SAMSUNG DVD-E360 REGION 1 directly to REGION "0"
So I did it in two steps:

1) Converted player from REGION 1 to REGION 2
2) Converted player from REGION 2 to "0"

PART 1: CONVERTING YOUR SAMSUNG DVD-E360 REGION 1 TO REGION 2

1. Start the DVD with no disc(if the player is right from the box you'll have to select language first)

2. Wait for "no disc" message on the screen.

3. Use the remote for the following steps:
Click the Repeat button.
Click the Fast Rewind button.
Click the Next Chapter button.
Click the Fast Forward button.
Click the Prev Chapter button.
Click the Play button.

4. A grid of numbers should appear on the screen, some of them highlighted, some not.
Write down the higlighted numbers in case you need to restore original settings.
If you player is REGION 1 the numbers should be: 3,9,19,21,22,24

Now you have to set your DVD player for REGION:

Using remote control highlight these numbers:2,8,19,21,22,24

(Make sure you do uncheck previously highlighted numbers,
If your player was REGION 1 uncheck numbers 3 and 9)

13. Save the new settings by pressing the "play" button (instructions are at the bottom of the grid)
14. THe DVD will automatically turn itself off.

-- YOUR PLAYER NOW IS SET FOR REGION 2 --

PART 2: CONVERTING YOUR PLAYER FROM REGION 2 TO "PLAY 'EM ALL" REGION "0"

1. PRESS THE REPEAT BUTTON (plain, not A-B)
2. PRESS THE FOLLOWING SEQUENCE OF BUTTONS ON THE REMOTE:

FF, FR, FF, UP, DOWN

You should see a little "0" pop up on the LEFT upper corner.

3. YOU'RE ALL DONE!

2014.5.29 just received my e360 region 1 DVD player from Amazon. And
eagerly tried the hack found here. Only problem is that there is no "22" in
the original set of numbers. So, DONT HIGHLIGHT "22" or you'll end up
with " tray error!"
here are my corrections:
REGION 1 the numbers should be: 3,9,19,21,24
REGION 2 numbers are 2, 8, 19, 21, 24
So to go from region 1 to region 2, just swap out 3 and 9 with 2 and 8.

Follow the rest of the directions for going from region 2 to region 0.
Do it a couple of times. Didn't work for me on first try!

Good luck...

11.17.2014 Bought this DVD player a while ago, but just
attempted the hacks listed here. Worked like a charm! I
just wanted to add that my player required the "22" to be
lit in order to work (it was also lit from the
beginning). I tried it without the number first, and no
discs would read (despite being able to have the "0"
appear in the top left of the screen, the first time
around). Just kept getting a "disc could not be read"
message. Went back and tried the steps over again from
the beginning, this time lighting the number "22", then
followed the remainder of the steps, and all DVDs read
properly.

Side note: Have not tried any DVDs from other regions
(i.e. NOT region 1), but would assume they would work. I
was doing this preemptively as I intend on purchasing a
UK DVD in the near future.

I wanted you all to know. I got the trey error
also when doing this. However I just fixed it and
got everything working perfectly for me. So here
is how I did it. It says to highlight certain
numbers. Well the number 22 was not highlighted.
Hence the trey error. So take the 2 screws out of
the bottom and open that bad boy up. At the trey
area u can move the little dingy the laser is
attached to back and forth. To pop the holder out
move that front all the way then the thin white
plastic piece beside it must be pushed down and
forward and the trey should slide right out.
Either way. Get that trey out! It will then
realize there is no disc and u can access the menu
again. So after that all I did was deselect 22
(the only number in the sequence originally not
selected) and I had trey functionality! I then
followed step 2 and low and behold. It worked! So
grab a Phillips head and go to town! Hope this
helps someone out there cuz it was a pain in the
butt for me :-)

I just purchased the E360 (April 2016) and applied the two-part hack listed here. (I have purchased DVDs all over the world and
probably own at least one from every region!) I am writing to affirm the process -- I was able to successfully change my player to "0"
(all regions). However, I want to add a clarification:

When you get to the step to highlight certain numbers on the number table, it is important to note whether "22" is already highlighted
or not. Different contributors to this hack thread have related experiences both ways. Some say to highlight "22", some say don't. My
number table did not have it highlighted, but I decided to do so. Mistake! I got the dreaded "tray error", which locks you out of
resetting the numbers. (Kudos to "benstix" for sharing the very helpful hardware over-ride to open the tray manually, which enables
you to get back to the number table.)

Bottom line: If "22" is highlighted, leave it highlighted. If it is not, don't highlight it. (Apparently, the E360 ships with both
configurations.)

I just want to say that the instructions above, after reading and combining all the advice above, worked perfectly to make my Region 1 DVE-E360 into a Region 2 and then Region 0 device. It played a Region 2 disc that I bought perfectly and I want to thank you all for your good work. Amazing!

I'm in South Africa and erroneously bought
region 1 DVDs online, I just used this
hack and it worked immediately!!! Thanks
guys!

The above hack also works for Samsung DVD
E350. However, if yours is originally set
for Region 3, like mine, you will need to
change to Region 2 first, then apply the
hack for multi-region. In selecting the
number code to change to Region 2, do NOT
highlight '22' if it isn't highlighted.
You'll get 'tray error' and you'll have to
manually pop the tray out before you can
redo all the steps. See the earlier
entries for detailed instructions.

PLEASE TURN THE REGION CODE TO 2

PostRegion code hack posted by joemcdoakes, November 09 2023:

I tested every one of the 24 numbers on the grid to see what they do. Be VERY careful with number 10. It
changes from NTSC to Pal, and vice versa. When it changes this, the frame rate changes, and you will not
be able to see what's on the screen, which means that you will not be able to change it back. Your
player will not be usable. Luckily, I have an old tv set where I could change the vertical hold frame
rate, which allowed me to change back to NTSC. If I didn't have that old tv, I never would have been
able to use the dvd player again - at least not in North America.
