100% BAD burns at 4x, only works at 2x (most but not even all of the time), both with native Mac OS Backup or with Toast 7 application.
About the 1-year warranty: only worth trying if you kept your purchase receipt. If you started using after 1 year, or if you didn't save your receipt for this junk, then you're out of whatever you spent to buy it!

After burning all OK. But after about 0.5 years many
reading errors and sometimes not recognizable even

burnt though my whole spindle, only 1 coaster due to media failure (several due to stupidity). the one coaster, interestingly, had blotches on the recording surface after it was burnt where apparently no data had been burend into the dye. weird.
with GSA-4040b, these discs would only burn at 2x until I updated my firmware to A303. I think I had A301 before.

Great media. I haven't had a bad one yet in over 100 burns. And the discs have played fine with no skips in many DVD players. I used some KHypdermedias that were CMC MAG. AF1 as well but they didn't play in some players while these did so I'm not quite sure what's going on there.

Aparently CMC made some bad batches of memorex. I used a BTC 1008 like some other reviewer but his were all good and 90 of 100 were bad on mine. This is the only time memorex has not been reliable for me. I have never had DVDs this bad before. I have burned about 1500 discs.

Using firmware A303, the DVD is not leggibile to PC neither on the DVD Player.
On the disc it is possible to see directory and the files, but they are not usable.
With firmware A302 it works perfectly

Media purchased 4/28 Officemax. Comes in blue colored box with "5PK" in red on top right of box - manufacturer code on bottom left of reverse 5395 5994R; Part Number 3202 5575; (c)2003. Frequently on offer for $9.99 sale price.
Media burned fine until the last 15 minutes when Nero DVD-Speed showed major flaws in the media; visual inspection of recorded program showed severe pixel, audio problems and freezing during playback of this portion. Flaw was consistent across samples drawn from three individual boxes purchased at different store locations. Media not acceptable, particularly for what is often considered "premium" media found in jewel cases.
This is apparently a new run of CMC AF1 media because its media code was not apparent here. It's no improvement.
Officemax will cheerfully refund 100% of your money on incompatible media.

Good burning reliability and good compatability with stand-alone players. This media is easily confused with it's evil cousin with media ID MBI 01RG20 that looks exactly the same. DVD-R:s with that ID, however, sucks big time and should be avoided at all cost.

I have been using this media to burn a DVD production I made from video and sill footage for a charity. The chairity has distributed over 100 of these dvd at fund raisers. So it has been played on several brands of DVD players and computers. I have noticed that it plays good to better on may set top dvd players. However, it has a poor track recored running on Laptop DVD-ROM/DVD-RAM/DVD+-R/RW drives. Tosiba drives seem to be the worst and I have found documents from Toshiba stating not to use memorex media on thier dvd drives. I have no problem burning or playing on set top plays though after burning over 200 I have had a few disk that have had problems when burned to capacity. I accounted to flawed media, for it is very few.

When burning this media in the recently released Sony DRU-530 with firmware 2.0a, at 2x or 4x it produces skipping at the end of the movies when burnt close to full capacity. It the total size of the file is less than 4GB the burns are flawless, however this is a very limiting factor and I would not recommend this media.

I'm able to burn at 4X all of the time and I have't had a bad disc in the first 100 I went through.
I did have issues with butning them in DVD Shrink which uses Nero Recode (only 1X), but I believe that to be a software issue. It worked on all of the other software packages at 4X

Haven't had any problems with these discs at all, save for burning a copy of an extremely scratched disc, which caused some audio problems on the copy (mismatched audio/visual; went away with a stop/play on my DVD player). So far I've done 6 or 7 discs at 2.4x speed with DVD Shrink and they all play fine on my DVD player. (Zenith DVB312.)

I got this data after having good results with memorex CD-Rs and DVD-RWs. Burns went without error during burn process .. however the disks are horrible to play. In my Panasonic DVD-R31 at the TV and my MEMOREX Dual-X DVD player on my computer the media had pixilated images, messed up sound, and froze into the movie out of 4 movies all the time. Tried burning at 1x and 2x, same results. Data plays from HD fine, and I copied it to a RW to make sure and the RW played without a hitch. Im going to contact memorex and see what the deal is. Ive made 11 coasters with my first 11 tries.

I use a TDK 440N PC Burner and I Set Top Pioneer DMR-E50. I have had about a 40% failure rate with these Memorex DVDs. I bought 2 25pk spindles and 21 of them failed to burn without flaw. Ther is usually a 1/2 inch burned dot on the bad disks that appears only after the burn. I find these discs to be a total waist of money.

These Memeorex 4.7 DVD-R are pure crap...well almost pure. Over 20% failure rate. When they do burn successfully they play fine. I bought two 25-packs so far and had 7 fail in one pack and 5 on the other. The burner says they are already written to (they aren't) or that they are unrecordable. Don't waste your money on this brand. They also scratch too easily making them unplayable on some players. Hey Memorex, where's my $26.00 refund?

I wish I had found this site before I wasted $50 on this media. As one of the other users stated this media is worthless with the Sony DRU-510A, I usually make 3 coasters before I get a successful burn. I've used Memorex CD-RW's - bought a spindle of 25 and they were all crap. Was nervous about the Memorex DVD-R's but they work fine. Im buying another 10 pack tomorrow.

Have burned 3 DVDs (movies) with only 1 successful. Two had skips near the outside of the DVD and were burned at 4x. The successful burn was done at 2x. I am quite disappointed as I had great success with the Memorex DVD+R media.

A large percentage of this manufacturer becomes coasters with my Sony DRU-510A. I've found other DVD-R brands very reliable, and I've even had great success with the Memorex DVD+R media, but that media is manufactured at Ricoh Japan. I've had little success with this brand burning at any speed, 1x, 2x, 2.4x, and 4x. Sony confirmed this Memorex DVD-R media made by CMC Mag. is not supported in their drives.
