DVDFab HD Decrypter is a simple version of DVDFab "DVD to DVD" and DVDFab "Blu-ray to Blu-ray". It copies entire DVD/Blu-ray movie to hard drive, and removes all the DVD protections (CSS, RC, RCE, APS, UOPs and Sony ARccOS) and part of Blu-ray protections while copying. NOTE! The decryption, DVD to HDD and Blu-ray to HDD, is FREE, if you want more features then it's a trialware. And it may take 1-6 months until it supports NEW DVD/Blu-ray releases. And click on TRY even if it says that the trial has expired.

DVDfab are now using an email aggregator based in California, and get this, it's called bmetrack.com. So despite DVDfab promising never to reveal your email address to anyone for any reason, they've caved in and given the whole list to an American company. What could possibly go wrong? Jun 23, 2017 Version: 10.0.4.3 OS: Windows 7 Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 7/10 Value for money: 6/10 Overall: 6/10

I've used an older version (free) for DVDs, haven't updated for a long time. Decided to try it on the Win 7 laptop I use for video stuff. Looks like it just did the main movie, which is OK for a free version. I was annoyed that it needs to connect to the internet in order to work since I don't have the laptop connected normally. (I have to run a cable temporarily) I think MakeMKV serves me better right now.

Nov 10, 2015 Version: 9.2.1.5 / 9.2.1.6 Beta (September 28, 2015) OS: Windows 7 Ease of use: 8/10 Functionality: 8/10 Value for money: 8/10 Overall: 7/10

In the current version (9_), the updated version, a splash screen shows everything that has been purchased or available for trial. HD Decrypter shows as "never expire". The product links are just links to the website...can't really blame them for trying to promote their product, can you? If you missed it like I did at first, click the X in top-right corner to close the splash and continue. It isn't clear, but HD Decrypter is only available for the "Copy" > "Full Disk" function.

You want the "Copy" tab. It should be selected by default.
Click "+Add" and select the DVD drive.
Below "Copy Mode" you should see "Full Disk". If not, click the big icon/image just below "+ADD" and above "Advanced Settings" (which is greyed out for me).

Select your destination path using "Save to". I suggest creating a folder like "DVDFab-out". Then I rip (compress) to a different folder on a 2nd drive using Handbrake.

When I first started using the software (v6) it was somewhat expensive ~$100, but it got rave reviews and was considered by many to be well worth the cost. There really is no competition, so if you rip a lot and want to rip and convert in one step (time being $$ and all that), it may be worth it. My biggest problem is all the damn versions now.
