I had read the reviews of others and thought that Prodisc was a safe bet so I purchase 3 spindles of these printables. Very few of them write consistantly beyond 3.8 g at 2x. Have tried at 4x and 6x with even worse results. I don't know if it's any help but the side edges of the discs are very uneven and poorly finished which may be affecting the discs balance. After the grief these discs have cause I would suggest that they be avoided until Prodisc developes some quality control standards.

At first the burned media seems okay... but I get about 5-7 coasters before getting one good burn that has no errors beyond 4GB mark. Burning at 4x or 2x doesn't make any difference. Read error test passes flawlessly for data upto 4GB. Burned movies will not play in 6 different players when playing the outer edge portion. Total crap in my opinion. Never had any problems with Riteks. I trashed the remaining 30 blanks.. not worth my time.

Discs burned at 4X with Toshiba SDR5112 DO NOT play in all players, but when burned at 2X are nearly universal. Had to use hacked firmware on the Toshiba to enable burning at greater than 1X with this media.
Discs burned at 4x with Plextor 712A play on everything I own. When burned at 6X to 8X they behave the same as discs burned at 4X on the Toshiba.

Been having trouble with Riteks lately, so tried these. Under .50/ea in 50 pack from Supermediastore. Burn movies flawlessly in my NEC 2510 and BTC 1004, play perfectly in my stand-alone Toshiba, Cyberhome, and Coby. Very impressive for the price. Disks have a quality finish (smooth edges, no strong smell.

This is just an update to my post on March 31st. I've now burnt about 250 of these discs with no coasters. My Ridata G04 discs however are crapping out horribly. Only my dvdburner can read/rip them with no probs.
Seems like the Prodiscs are defintly a better choise than the Riteks.

I originally purchases 300 of these and they worked great in my sony DRU, pioneer ao5 and ao6 and my NEC. However, I bought another 500 from a new batch code and burned them at 2X with very poor results. Not a single one played on my DRU-500A or my NEC. A05 and A06 worked fine. I think prodisc still has some process control issues on their media. Too bad, I was hoping to replace Ridata product.

The worked well only had 3 that became coasters.
About 3/4 of them worked on my Panasonic L10 portable player, but all of them worked great on my samsung ht-DM150

I bought these discs through supermediastore after the great positive comments on this board. However, I have found that the media is not as forgiving on my Pioneer DV-414 or my Phillips CDD501 DVD-ROM drive for playback when burned at 4X. I have Ritek G04s and those work wonderfully on both players. I get blockiness on playback when I burn it at 4X; reducing the burn speed down to 1X is the only way I can achieve the same consistency as the Ritek media. It's probably more of a laser/color compatibility issue than an actual issue with the media, since my burner, the Pioneer 107 has no trouble reading any burns I've made at any speed.

I've burnt several of these DVDs and they are all great. No problems with burning. No read errors reported from DVDInfo. Apply meritline's glossy labels with zero problems when playing.
For those who have Toshiba SD-R5112 DVD burner like I do, update it to latest firmware (1033) in order to burn at 4x or otherwise, it will take an hour to finish
a full disc.

Used these to replace the Ritek Ridata G04 white inkjet printable dvd-rs. Burnt 10 so far at 4x and no problems. Checked a few afterwards with Nero tools and DVDINFOPro and got no errors, even past the 4GB mark. The bottom of these discs look similar to the Verbatim Datalifeplus discs, probably because they both use the metal AZO dye. I'd highly recommend them if you have a Pioneer burner.
