The disk burt on first try in a Toshiba SD-R6012 drive at a decent speed. Playing it, on the other hand, was a different issue. Didn't work in either Panasonic DVD player or XBox. Had issues getting it to work back in same drive. Windows wouldn't recognize it and kept sending error reports.

Nothing has caused more frustration than this media, problem is, as a newbie I didn't know it was the media causing problems. Disks that would play half way though, get choppy and freeze, and disks that failed burning and turned cloudy. Total junk. I can't believe Memorex puts their name on it. Maybe they should stick to analog tape.

Media Never Works at any speed. Always bombs out at a certain spot on each and every DVD-R. 12 out of 12 are coasters, and I have 38 more DVD-R's to go. I will probably continue this trend.

I reported earlier that these were working good. I'm not sure I was reporting on the right media. I had purchased some 10PAK DVDs, and they did work good. I had not looked at the Media Code with the utility. Having just done so on some of these from a 50 PAK, I know I am reporting on the right ones now.

As others are saying: CRAP. 2 of 10 have worked. Just ran TEST mode on 8 with Record Now DX last night, and it failed on all 8.

crap crap crap. bought memorex because they have decent (not GREAT, but decent) CDR media. 3 out of 5 are now dead, 3-4 months later, after succesfully burning.

first disc i authored one custom in DVDit PE, burned and immediately had probs somewhere on the middle of the disc on PS2. had same problems on a Samsung at Circuit City and on a Sony at a friend's house. never did read on my Panasonic/Matshita DVD-ROM (SR-8585) but first VOB or two read on parents' SR-8584. Plays OK on Daewoo. Played for a month on the Apex but stopped working.

second one, HK boot of Cowboy Bebop movie played OK until a month or so ago, read just fine on both 8585 and 8584. now won't read in either. plays on Daewoo. Stopped playing on Apex a month ago.

Disc three gave a calibration error or something after burning for 10-20 seconds. $3 coaster.

Disc four i gave to my friend (owed him one).

Disc five Jay and Silent Bob based on a test of DVD2One. WOULDN'T READ the moment i took it home on my Apex. read for a month or so on 8585, but only 1/3 of the way thru before drive stopped reading (powerdvd: "disc may be scratched...", windvd just plain stopped), Daewoo still reads fine to this day.

and no, my apex isn't broken. it reads movies. Spirited Away on a Sony, and LOTR2 on Fuji.

so, yeah, memorex is utter crap. won't touch ever again. or at least several years.

I was using Princo which was horrible. Freezes near the end of every movie. I bought these Memorex thinking the "high" price would be the fix. WRONG!! Still the same problem. I've tried different DVD players, encoders, burning software and nothing seems to help.
Does ANYONE make media that will work all the way through?

HORRIBLE media. I bought several of these for $9 each at Circuit City. I assumed due to the price they would be good quality - WRONG.

It's almost as if these things degrade over a very short period of time. A few of these that I used with my PS2 & Xbox worked for a few days - then they died. They were not even readable by my SD-R5002 any more, when they were only days ago!

I can get cheap Princo to work fine on my PS2/Xbox and PC DVD-ROM/SD-R5002. But with these they fail and/or burn coasters. I was not able to get one to work correctly.
