With much patience I have discovered that you can use the same hack as HT- 5530 / HT-5530W found here http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks? dvdplayer=Samsung+HT-D5530&hits=50&Search=Search... Am very happy now as I've just moved from UK to Australia and I can still play my 300+ DVDs from the UK without buying a separate multi-region DVD player! :-)

I purchased the Samsung HT-E6750W on 20 July 2012 in New Zealand. Here is what worked for me by applying a slight tweak to previous instructions found on this site for other models. (I couldn't get it to work on this model player until I applied the tweak) My tweak is point #5: 1. Ensure there is no disc in the drive 2. Power off using remote 3. Power on using remote 4. No disc is displayed on the front of the player 5. Highlight the 'Settings' Option on the Main screen (Not the default 'Smart Hub') 6. Without hurrying type in [REPEAT] 7 6 8 8 4 7. Your current region is displayed (very briefly) in the top right hand corner of the screen (Mine was 4) 8. While you see the current number highlighted, Press 9 on your remote (making it region free) 9. Power off using remote 10. Power on using remote and test. I tried a Region 1, 2 and 4 disc from my library - all work nicely now! I hope this is useful for others out there.

This also worked with my HT-E6750W system bought in Australia. Although I had to add a step to mine to make it work. (step 6) 1. Ensure there is no disc in the drive 2. Power off using remote 3. Power on using remote 4. No disc is displayed on the front of the player 5. Highlight the 'Settings' Option on the Main screen (Not the default 'Smart Hub') 6. Press the BD button on remote (left hand top corner, under the RED on/off button) 7. Without hurrying type in [REPEAT] 7 6 8 8 4 8. Your current region is displayed (very briefly) in the top right hand corner of the screen (Mine was 4) 9. While you see the current number highlighted, Press 9 on your remote (making it region free) 10. Power off using remote 11. Power on using remote and test. I've tested this with a few different regions and it works for all! |
