Complete Version history / Release notes / Changelog / What's New for iPodifier

What's new in iPodifier v1.5:

* dvr-ms files are handled natively (DVRMSToolbox is no longer necessary) using the latest version of ffmpeg
* metadata (i.e. showname, episode and description) contained in the dvr-ms file is captured and xferred to iTunes
* If you have bittorrent files or any other downloaded TV series, if you use the file naming convention: Showname-S01E01 Episode.xxx, then the season and episode numbers will be transferred to iTunes.
* video source wizards have been improved to make selection of appropriate resolutions for iPod/iPhone easier
* metadata for SageTV is now captured from xml info file rather than filename (much more reliable)
* iPodifier can be started minimized and with encoding enabled by using the command-line switch "/START" (i.e. start iPodifier using ipodifer.exe /START).You can then put a shortcut to iPodifier in your Startup folder and it will start automatically on reboots
* bug fixes

What's new in iPodifier v1.0.0.8:

* Better integration with iTunes - TV shows are now imported into iTunes as TV shows (Movies as Movies). Show art can be added that will show up in iTunes "Cover Flow" view
* Podcast feeds can be created for each show - This gives you the option of adding TV shows to iTunes as podcasts instead of TV shows. If you have family members with their own iPod, you can store the iPod videos on a server and each family member can subscribe to only the show feeds that they want on their iPod.For those who want iPodifier to run on a different computer than have iTunes on, this allows iPod video to be added by using a Podcast feed.Check the google group for help on how to use the podcast feed feature.

* Recent activity panel displays transcoding activity since last startup
* Lots of bug fixes and minor smaller feature upgrades

What's new in iPodifier v0.99

* Easy-to-use setup wizards: There are now wizards to setup iPodifier as well as add video sources. This makes it much easier to get started with iPodifier.
* Video preprocessing:For each video source, a video preprocessing application can be specified that will be run before transcoding. This was added specifically to allow Windows Media Center Edition TV shows to be transcoded as they need to be preprocessed using DVRMSToolbox before transcoding. It can also be used to run applications such as commerical removal tools on the video before it is transcoded.
* Improved video in use detection: Previous versions of iPodifier did not do a good job of detecting whether a video was still being recorded.Occasionally, iPodifier would start transcoding a video that was still being recorded which would lead to problems. This version of iPodifier waits until the video file is no longer being written to before adding it to the transcoding queue.
* Network video source paths: Previous iPodifier versions did not allow you to use a network path to your video source (i.e. fileservermyvideos).Version 0.99 now allows network paths.
* Visual changes: Some minor visual tweaks to the UI.Most noticeable being the top bar with the logo.I have removed the google ads for now and replaced them with links to the iPodifier website.I will try to keep you up to date with new versions using this top bar.
* Lower CPU usage during transcoding:iPodifier now allows you to set the encoder CPU priority. If you set it to "Idle", when no other applications are demanding CPU power, iPodifier will take 100% of the CPU, but if you are trying to use your computer while iPodifier is transcoding, iPodifier will yield its CPU usage to any other program. This makes it much easier to have iPodifier running in the background and still use your computer for other tasks. If you want iPodifier to take all the CPU power when it needs it, set encoder CPU priority to "High"
* Bug fixes: Too many to mention.Lots of little problems have been fixed.
