Linux: GUIDE: You can do great iPod video in Linux!!!

This guide is intended for Linux noobs (like me) who are from a Windows background and are more comfortable with GUI's than the CLI Terminal. This guide will show you how to create Hi-Resolution iPod compliant MPEG-4 Videos that are of sufficient quality for TV-Out iPod use or playback on a HTPC. The created files will utilize x264 or XviD Video and aac Audio from the multi-platform workhorse encoder "ffmpeg". The cross-platform GUI batch encoding application "WinFF" has been developed by one of our own members here at VideoHelp.com "Bigg Matt", you can check out his site at www.biggmatt.com. The scope of this guide will be limited to simple conversion from .MPG,.VOB or .AVI to .mp4. IVTC, Pulldown and Anamorphic encodes will not be covered at this time.

How to edit menu without complete reauthoring

When parts of DVD are removed it is quite natural to disable menu buttons linking to the removed parts. Once it was a rather complicated procedure, but now one can easily delete a menu button using DvdReMake so that it can't be selected. It is a simple procedure but unfortunately button graphics is still visible as it is a part of the menu video.

How to rip DVDs with Handbrake and VLC Media Player libdvdcss

In order to rip a DVD to your computer, you basically need two things: a program called HandBrake and an open source library for unscrambling DVDs called libdvdcss. You’ll find tons of other articles in Google about ripping DVDs using other programs and methods, but this method is free, uses safe, clean and malware free software and works on both Windows and Mac.
