Excellent media to use with Benq DW1640. I am able to overspeed at 8x, although media is made for 4x. Very low PI and PO as you can see.

Out of three spindles, the first one, I had about 3 disks of 25 that wouldn't read on my PS2 (only one of which wouldn't read on my PC). Almost all of them burned at the advertised 4x. The second spindle, approximently 1/3 wouldnt read even on the PC. Some of them would onl burn at 2.4x. The third spindle, every other disk was bad and wouldn't read. Almost everyone would burn at 2.4x. I must have gotten a bad batch for the second and third ones, because those disks sucked. However, the 8x +R's work much, much better, with much better reliability. Payed $10.99 CAD per spindle.

What a pleasant surprise! Not a coaster in a box of five! This media is regularly heavily discounted at Future Shop (latest deal 200 for $60), but would be worth the full price of $2.00 Cdn. per disc. Reliable. KProbe scan shown below is very good and apart from the edge of the disc (and all media share this problem) is excellent. I'm definitely buying more, and the 8X version of this media is the next thing I'm going to try. Here is the full KProbe report

Bad compatability with earlier versions of Nero Ultra 6. Update nero to the latest version and the media burns at 4x no problem. Using lg-gsa4040b dvd burner rev a304. Takes 30+ minutes to burn 4.4 gb (full dvd) as compared to 15-17 minutes when I burned a full dvd using Ritek g02 dvd-r's. Not impressed with media at all. AVOID.

nero ultra 6 earlier versions didnt work (successful, slow write, but disc was unreadable. Upgraded Nero to latest from nero.com and burned slowly but it works. burning both dvd backups and in other situations, normal files (vacation photos) for backup purposes.)
clonedvd burns coasters no matter what.
dvd decrypter seems to be ok with media, but again at 4x writes VERY slowly (30+ minutes)

My backups work fine, until near the end of the movie (in most cases - some do it near the middle also), where it starts playing really choppy. At 1h44m into the movie, it plays choppy every time I play it back on a Zenith DVD2381C dvd player. On my PC it plays fine straight through.

Cant burn at all on Benq DW800a. Drive will detect and read(assuming) but will start with error when using Nero 6+ and any other software. Tried @ 8x, 4x, and 2x. Will write onto disc a thin line of data (lead-in) and then crash with error saying that DAO could not be started/completed. Wish i didn't buy 100 pack :D cause i cant return them...
