Only reliable burning on 2.4 speed with nero. Burns successfull at 4 speed but will not play afterwards on any of my dvd players. Some of the discs burned at 4 speed where even not readable anymore on the burner itself.

Plextor PX-708A fw. 1.04, Nero 6.3.0.3: Although recognized as 8x speed media, don't burn at that speed! This results in a disc, which only plays in the Plextor and then don't skip between tracks, otherwise it freezes (PowerDVD 5). Strange that it's seen as 8x media, while the Plextor media list says 4x for BeAll discs. Or they mean an other media code, it's not given in the list. Burning at 4x goes without problems, I got discs which play perfectly on my ASUS DVD-E616P1 and LiteOn LTD163 DVD-ROM drives and Pioneer DV-444 standalone player. I tried to create a testdisc with Nero CD-DVD speed, but because the Plextor burned it at 8x, the read tests failed after some seconds. Instead, I tested a DVD-video disc, burned at 4x and all the read tests went OK.
