Just to add to the previus post, After burning with Nero, I select "Verify written data", about half the time my drive would fail to verify the disk. The errors would usually start at the ~3.5GB mark and beyond and I can't copy the files back to my computer with all the DVD readers I used (2 Toshiba, 1 Pioneer) :(

Bought 100 from shop4tech, burned them at 1X with my Toshiba SD-R5112 and firmware v1033. The result is that when inserting the burned disks into my Toshiba SD-M1612, the drive would try to read the disk then gives up by showing a busy light, same with the SD-R5112. The disk would start up on a Pioneer DVD-116, but when running Nero CD-DVD Speed on the media, the drive will stop at a position on the disk and report the disk unreadable. I checked PI and PIF on 5 random disks I burned using Kprobe and Toshiba SD-M1802 at 4X read and the result of the PI is in the range of 300000-580000 and the PIF is in the range of 18000-30000. Some of the disks will start in the SD-M1612 and SD-R5112 while others won't. The only drive that can start up the disks and read them back is Toshiba SD-M1802. I bought these disks because I saw the customer reviews on shop4tech's site, but boy was I fooled. I post the result of my findings of this media on Shop4tech, but it never showed up. Seems they cherry pick the reviews...

This media is great. Burned at 2x and 4x without any errors or coasters. Has worked in all DVD players I have tried it with, even an old Onkyo which doesnt even recognize CDR's. I had to upgrade the burner (NEC 1300A) to firmware 1.0B before it recognized the discs however.

As the user above suggested, this media works with my nec1300a with the 1.0b firmware. The 1.8 hacked firmware gave a disc-at-once error. So far, the reliability is better than expected. It burns at 4x perfectly without a glitch. Highly recommend this media for its price:performance ratio.

LOL,never see better disc than this one. i was using ritek4X, ridata4X, they r trash, and never burn at 4X. this Sonic one is very reliable, and very smooth, no error, no problem, 50 disc burnd in a row, no problem playing on both my old sony and new no-brand DVD player.

on the other hand, it only 29C per disc, and it's still getting cheaper.

Cheapo media very dependent on a combination of burner and burn speed and player. My Pioneer 107D v1.13 will produce good burns at 4x with this media, and sometimes at 6x and 8x. The 4x plays good in my Apex and JVC, but not Panasonic (all standalones). My Plextor 708A produces errors upon playback, even on a PC, at 4x. Should burn at 2x or 1x.

All in all can't complain at $.32 a piece, but don't use it for important stuff unless you are willing to burn at 1x or buy a Pioneer 107D and update to the hacked firmware. The PI/PO results are acceptable at this with most drives at 1x, and the Pioneer produces good PI/PO results at 2x - 4x. I recommed this for "disposable" discs, those discs that are easily replacable or forgotten. I keep a couple hundred of these around in addition my normal store of a couple hundred Ritek G04.

Media has a little white star on the inner ring. There is a tiny 4x imprinted on the edge on inner ring. However, media can only burned at 2X or lower.
Good price for a decent B- quality disc. The media seems a bit thiner as compared to other retail brands.

Purchased as Sonic Thermal Printable from Shop4Tech. Media is usually Longten 001 but recieved these instead. Inside ring states 4x media.

Burned on NEC-2500A at 4x. Recieved a few discs with very very bad dye fluctuations...burned these to the edge and they still play fine with no errors in Nero-CD speed test or DVDInfoPro error test. That's never happened before. Great discs, no idea how they got mixed into the usually crappy Sonic's at Shop4tech but I'll take em all.
