VCD Hack and Multi Region Hack for DVD2201 VCD Hack 1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive 2. Press "PAUSE" on the remote 3. Enter "1472" on the remote (the characters 01 47 should appear on the display) [If your player is a non UK model, this number will probably be different] 4. Press the UP arrow three times (the characters 04 Fd should appear on the display) 5. Press "PROGRAM", "6", "PROGRAM", "5" (the characters 04 FE should now be displayed) 6. Press "ENTER" (the display should flash briefly) 7. Press "RETURN" 8. Power the player off and then back on 9. Play a VCD! Multi Region Hack 1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive 2. Press "PAUSE" on the remote 3. Enter "3 1 4 1 5 9" on the remote (the word COdE appears on the display) 4. Enter "0" on the remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.) 5. Sorry, I totally screwed up my last submission. This is an attempt at correcting that. VCD playback enable is the same on the XBV243 DVD/VCR Combo unit as with many other zenith DVD players. References to other players in the below text is not intended to confuse. If your device is an XBV243, it will work. I confirmed this on 28 July 2002. Notes: Locate all keys mentioned in the below hack before attempting to execute it. I didn't. It made for an uncomfortable time because I was attempting to hack a player not documented. If you take too long between keypresses or 'lose track' of where you are in the hack, power off the device, power on, and proceeed from the beginning. I did this several times and still succeeded. God protects fools and drunks. This hack enables VCD playback on the Zenith 2350 Power on the player with no disk in the drive Press "PAUSE" on the remote Enter "1472" on the remote Press the UP arrow three times Press "PROGRAM", "5", "PROGRAM", "5" (the characters 04 EE should now be displayed) Press "ENTER" (the display should flash briefly) Press "RETURN" Power the player off and then back on Play a VCD! (I had to press Play on the remote to make the disc play). Don't know if that is normal or not. I don't own a DVD player. I bought this one for a friend of mine as a gift). | |||

The hacks listed for the dvc2200 work only on UK models. Two friends of mine have this model and not only did the region hack not work, it screwed one guys player up. The vcd hack did work correctly. | |||
