Here are the steps to make a Radio Shack Accurian 16-136 (manufactured by Axion) portable DVD player region free. 1) Turn on the DVD player without a DVD inside the player. 2) Press the SETUP button on the remote control (a "Setup" screen will appear). 3) Use the right/left arrow keys to navigate to the "Preference Page". 4) Next use the up/down arrow keys navigate down to the "Disc Menu". 5) Enter the code 9653 using the remote numeric keypad. 6) A screen will then be shown that has the unit model number, the date and time the unit was manufactured, and the region code. 7) Use the up/down arrow keys to change the region or set it to "0" for region free. 8) Press the enter button to save the changes. 9) Press the SETUP button on the remote to exit the "Setup" menu | |||
