I bought it from Frys for $ 149 and I asked the guy what the buffer size was and he said its 8MB for sure and now on the this link says 2MB buffer!!!. I try to burn a DVD movie with DVD X COPY Xpress and it wouldn't it says error writing on Disk!! or it it would stop and eject the DVD+R when its like 12% done. Works okay with DVD X copy but not Xpress. Anyone know whats the best DVDRW + or - blank media to use on this drive? Anyone have problem with this drive? How sure that the buffer is 2 not 8?

So far so good. Owned this unit for a month and it does everything as advertised! Have not tried 8X media yet. Very, very quiet and burns CD-R at 40X without a problem. Backed up 14 DVD movies so far using DVD Shrink without a coaster!
