Tried 8X down to 2x write speeds. None of them worked. 8x bombs out at 10%-11% while 2x bombed out at 4%. Latest firmware installed and drive works perfectly with other media like Verbatim LightScribe DVD+R media

I got a bundle from eBay to try them out! They appears to be TYG02 OEM discs, and have burnt several of them so far. In fact, Im burnin National Treasure right now on them at 8X and they all worked! Making several copies for friends. Haven't tried 12X, because they are suppose to burn at that speed with my hacked firmware. Great discs, highly recommended!

Funny with the guy on the issues using his Plextor. I have 3 burners, PX-712A, NEC 3500A, Optorite DD0405, and they ALL burnt these discs (bought with the same company) without any problems. Have burnt 2X, 4X, 6X, 8X, just for the heck of it to see if he's right, and I simply can't duplicate the problems that he's having. I'm running Windows XP and used Nero, Decrypter, DVDShrink, TMPG Author, and they all OK!!!

So, anyone else think it's the media's problem? Take a guess.

Great medias!

These have the same cheap plastic smell that Leda and OptoDisc media have. There are shavings still attached to the edges from the dull cutting blades used in the manufacture of these discs. I have TYG02 media in hand, and these ain't it. If you need a 2X disc with medium compatibility issues, this is it. If you're looking for an 8X disc to burn on your computer and play in your standalone....please shop elsewhere. I requested an exchange for Taiyo Yudens and hope allmediaoutlet will work with me: I'll have to eat one 50 count cake box since I opened them - darn. BTW: The cheap ($ .30 - $ .33 ) shop4tech brand media that I burned at 8X didn't die at all - much less at under 2 percent of burn. Ditto for burning at 4X. I'm making coasters of these - I think I'll print pretty pictures on them, clearcoat them and put them out for my guests; because I can't put my home videos on them safely. Take a good look at the picture, make certain you don't purchase these. I'm proud for the guy who actually got them to work - his burner must be one compatible piece of equipment. BTW: I did start with a clean install of W2K, updated drivers and bios before testing this media - I had just installed the plextor and wanted it to be right...it is, just not for Dupsonic discs.

Attempted burn at 8x on plextor = coaster
Attempted burn at 4x on plextor (didn't even try 6x on this media) = coaster
Completed burn at 2x on plextor, wouldn't play in picky Panasonic, gave to co-worker who has an Apex to test. BTW: Did attempt burns with Toshiba SDR-5112 drive at 4x = coaster, but 2x had same results as with Plextor 712A. I have used ProDisc, Shop4Tech Brand, (of course Verbatim & Taiyo-Yuden) on 8x burns with success - none of these.
Works fine on Panasonic DVD-LV55
Does not work on Panasonic DVD-CV52

Great medias! Burned 30 discs so far without coasters. Kprobe results is awesome. Played in my XBox and PS2, even with 8X burning. Definitely Taiyo-Yuden quality. The last guy who posted 2x results probably has a system problem, not these medias' fault.
