Media doesn't burn on Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-R6012; it seems to write at 1x (ONLY) but at the end nothing results and DVD PRINCO become unusable.
50% and more PRINCO DVD's burned on PIONEER DVR-107 at 2x or 4x are full of errors over the 3th GB, the other ones after 6 months become very difficult to read (only some chance at lower speed). In my opinion PRINCO DVD media are the worse DVD-R I never used. It has no sense to pay a DVD only 0.5€ and than try to use 3 media at least in order to obtain enough reliability!!

I've purchased these discs in 50's and 100's spindles, and can count on one hand how many times they've screwed up a burn. HOWEVER, I can't vouch for their longevity, since some of my older discs (12mths+) fail to read (using DVDDecrypter) in some parts.

I bought a stack of 100 of these and the first 5 were coasters. I had just checked on firmware about a week prior (was running FSOF) so I didn't check for it at first, but with no other success, I checked and LiteOn released FSOH. I upgraded and had no other problems, plus the burning speed was bumped up to 2X.

To all those running a LiteOn 411S and having problems with these, definately try the new firmware.

Bought as Leda 1x from shop4tech. I have burned a little under 300 of these with very few problems over the last year+. First batch of 100 had maybe 12 bad ones... could use bright light and see flaws in the ink. 2nd and 3rd 100 packs did not have this problem. Have not had one single bad burn due to bad disk in the last 200 or so Princos. Also records/plays well on the Sharp DV-RW2 player (not in the DVD Player Choices List) and plays on a DVD/TV combo unit I got last Thanksgiving. Plays several other machines as well, but will not play on a couple older (4-5 years old) machines. Tested on many, many, MANY portables while shopping for a new travel DVD player. I can't remember a single portable DVD player refusing to play my test Princo... but then again, I didn't play an entire movie on all of them. Still, the portable Audiovox, Panasonics, Toshibas, etc played them fine in the store tests. However, my elderly travel Panasonic Palm Theatre (DVD-L50) will NOT play these Princos... or any other DVD-Rs I bet! My new travel buddy, the Toshiba SD-P2500 plays them just fine. Just ordered 100 more of these Ledas(Princos), even though my buddy at work (who has also burned probably 300+ disks over the past year too) says his last batch had a much higher "bad" rate than he's seen before. Hope my next 100 are ok. I'll get them next week and be burning a batch of softball videos for the team. I'll let you know.

this is just an update from earlier.....

tested on my standalone pioneer dv333. discs burned 2+ months still work....and yes, i specifically tested the outer edge...and i mean really outer edge. turns out that certain movies i had problems playing the outer edge (blockiness, jerkiness) were due to either bad disc/burn. i reburned the exact same movie onto another Princo and the outer edge problem was fixed....for the 4 movies so far that had the outer edge problem.

for those that complain about Princos and also use the 2X hacked firmware to burn....stop doing that. when you use hacked firmware to burn media at higher than it's rated, then of course, you're gonna get problems...that's a risk you're taking. try burning them at the rated 1X.

I used the previous pure white top and they were fine at 2X. I'm not sure how long the dye will last.

When I bought this new batch with a CD case and the text on top ,the burns would die at the other edge. The DVD is only readable at in the inner edge. Avoid this media compeletely. I have been through 8 coasters in a row. Also the outer edge has jagged grooves. Very poorly finished. I knew they would be problem the frirst time I opened one. I still have 17 blanks left I'm not sure what do with them as I know they will exhibit the same results. Also I have not seen a warranty policy for Princo. Not surprising since they are so damn cheap. But I'm starting to wonder if they are cheap if all your getting for 1.49 is a coaster. I'd rather get a blank CD at fraction of the cost.

Princo blows!! Avoid at all cost.

1st copies burned flawlessly. But after 10 burns the errors got worse: 6 backup-DVD's with MPG videoclips as data all had some errors. All my latest movieburns (smallest 3Gb, largest is 100% full) FAILED except 1. Burned at 1X and 2X, but to no avail.
I bought 70 of them and I am afraid I have to dump them, I'm tired of burns errors, it 's such a loss of time. Buy good quality like Pioneer's, Maxell or Emtec. Avoid these.

I have gone thru about three hundred of these. Sold at Shop4Tech as Leda brand.
Much exploration has shown that all 1X Princos are alike.
There are several grades. Somehow you need to find Grade A.
As far as the degradation over time - I am concerned but dont have any data on this yet. I have lost one movie over time but dont know why. Others I have put on the window sill and left there for a week and still play fine. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of this before thousands of discs are recorded.
It would be great to find a better quality disc that works with the Panasonic desk tops that are compatible with other players.
I find the princos I burn on My pansasonic HS2 work better in other players than say....riteck burned on the HS2 and played in other players. I am also finding that if there are problems in other players it is at the end or outer part of the disk. ...So I have been recording bars at the end of the movies so the movie itself is not at the edge as much.

i ordered these from computer123.com and all i can say is that im dissapointed in what i recieved. me and a friend ordered the same day one right after the other 2 50 packs of 1x princos. on the same day he recieves his i recieve dvd-rw disc. so beware of buying from computer123.com. said they would take them back, and it took 2 months for me to get a return label from them.

the 1x dvd-r are good.. i dont know about standing the test of time, but mine are all flawless after 3-5 months of using them. you do get what you pay for in speed and waiting and waiting for it to finish isn't going to cut it. so if you have the extra get 4x raiteks, if not at least get these in 2x.

I have only created one coaster out of 20 DVD's backed up due to an error in the software. I haven't noticed this in a stand alone DVD player, because I mostly use my Xbox for DVD playback, however, towards the end of a movie I notice some reduction in quality. In few cases the movie tends to skip towards the end of the movie. I have not tested every backup in both my stand alone and game console. The movie bakcups I viewed in stand alone DVD players had no problems. The PS2 even played a backups with out error on one occasion of testing.

I have not tested any 2X burning. I'm just happy to be able to backup my mutli gig software collection as well as my DVD collection.

I'm currently using cheapo 1X Princo DVD-Rs. They work great. I can even burn them at 2X with hacked firmware. The resulting DVD-R played fine. However, that was just for testing purposes. I'm burning at the suggested 1X to make sure there's gonna be no problems in the long run. Out of about 60 DVD-Rs burned, only had 1 coaster. I personally messed up another one because my computer froze while I was working on it. Otherwise, the media is great. Always played perfectly on my DVD-ROM. However, I did get some slight glitches on one of the movies I burned when playing in my pioneer DV33; the same disc had no problems whatsoever in my DVD-ROM. I guess my standalone is more sensitive or something. The bonus features had these glitches, but not the main movie...weird. I just re-burned it, and everything is perfect...no more glitches. Keep in mind, this happened with 1 movie out of nearly 35 so far. So, for about $0.81/each, tax included...in CA, I think this media is great.

Using Pioneer a05 with 1.33 2x4all firmware, burning these at 2x with some problems. So far out of 25 I have had 3 coasters where data from a certain section of the DVD was just unreadable. One thing to mention is that sometimes dvd writer will not recognize a freshly burned data cd, but after a few retries it works again. This may be due to the fact that they were burnt on 2x speed.

So far there was one problem with a movie disk having glitches at the end upon playback (after about the 1:45 mark). This could have been because I burned the disk up to its maximum capacity. Any capacity less than about 4.2 GB seems fine, for movie backups. I am concerned about the longevity of these disks, though. Does anyone have some objective data about this?

The two bad discs that would nt load had visible defects you could see on them beforetime. Each one I made plays fine all the way through on all three of my players(no end freezing/choppiness like Memorex). I did a lot of watching just to be positive of this. I'm very happy with these.

NOTE! I have ordered 3 times from YesBuy.net, and thankfully have NEVER gotten Princo DVD-R media. My first 2 orders were TDK. Don't rely on their information, get a program (DVDInfo) that will tell you the exact media code! I have had only 2 coasters out of 100 with YesBuy.net 2x media.

Works great in My Pioneer A04 Ver 1.31 at 2X. Burned over 150 disks with no coasters. The disks contain video media for sale and have only had two customers complain about readability both have OLD DVD players (Sanyo).

Burn with Ulead Workshop. No problems highly recommended.
Sold in 50 and 100 packs

Bought 20 of these. So far they work fine, although sometimes my DVD-ROM drive seems to have a bit trouble recognizing it in the first place. After this happens, everything works fine, so I actualy suspect my DVD-ROM player (Lite-On) to be messing up, it sometimes won't recognize CD-ROMS either....

The Video DVD's I made on these discs work fine on my Toshiba SD-220E DVD player.

I did make some bad discs, but this was all due to software problems, NOT the disc.
