this media seems to get quality rating at 8x for me. for some reason it just doesnt burn right at all with speeds under 8x. so i guess lower quality media needs to be burned faster? i don't know and i dont get it. but this media from staples is cheap, so knowing that you can burn it at 8x or more you have to burn it at 8x that is could be a plus and minus. ill try to stick with good media like verbatim for important data though. but i would get this again for the 5 dollar price tag. burning slower doesnt help this media out, but maybe its just my burner that doesnt like it slow. i have a benq 1650, and i get a gradual pi po error increase with slow speeds. but i got a high quality rating with 8x. makes no sense to me but thats how it is. ridata and verbatim doesnt have this issue. dyes and makers are just not the same, so be warned. try different speeds out to test what works best for you. and if you can check your media do it, to ensure everything is right.

When recording movies from TV I get consistent failed discs after finalizing using a Liteon LW5005. Everything seems fine, then when you go to play back disc, Liteon cannot read the disc. Could be the machine, but it's not done it with any other brand of disc.

Seemed to have no difficulty burning, but consistantly burnt at only 4x, never 8x. Nero and alcohol 120 don't recognize 8x compatibility. playback on stand alones, compatibilty-wise was fine, but get alot of skipping and read errors as the tracks move out. very disappointed with the amount of read errors.

Checked media with Benq's QScan ver.1.0 for tracking and focus quality. Results, not recommended for burning at 12X,8X, 4X or 2.4X due to large tracking errors near outer edge of disk. Media has been used on one burner with image burned at 2.4X. Played back on one DVD player but player did have difficulty following track near end of disk.

Pretty good media. Avg 60 PIEs at the beginning of the disc, avg 2 PIEs after about 1/3 the way through the beginning. Total avg: 12 PIEs, 1.x PIFs. Using Herries Hacked FW 1.07b5 with an NEC 2500a. Unlike the Playo DVD-Rs, these burn up to 8x.
