Not a hack as of yet, but informational news and maybe hope. Purchased at Costco November 2009 / Input 100-240VAC 50/60Hz (is the universal voltage an indication of something? :D ) I placed a region 2 DVD in this region 1/A player. The player recognized it as a DVD with a "DVD Video" prompt in the upper left hand corner, then a pop-up message stating "Warning (International yellow triangle with ! in the middle) Wrong region code!" Then below that in the same on-screen message a button with the text "Select". Pressing the SELECT button on the remote will open the players tray and the message on the screen will disappear. From here one can only ponder what to do. I tried a few thoughts...nothing changed. :( I cracked the cover to look inside, nothing stood out except a jumper on the control board (M20PG1/REV:01) marked J101 that was open. Again, maybe there is still some hope for this one :) | |||

Someone on Ebay is selling these players modified for region-free, so there has to be some way to do it! | |||
