Compared to the other software that I use to convert DVD to H264:
Nero Recode: Limits you to 2 audio files and 2 subtitles. It automatically detects interlacing and applies deinterlacing if detected (Handbrake does not). Nero does not have constant quality encoding, so 2 pass mode is needed to achieve same quality as handbrake (45 min for nero vs. 30 with handbrake on my machine). Nero does not have a queue and does not work with BluRay.
DVD Fab: Creates a folder with separate subtitle files rather than putting them in the same container (Even with MKV container). Allows only a single audio and subtitle file. I have had audio sync issues with this program. Note that it works GREAT for decrypting discs. Rivals Any DVD in breadth of decryption. |
