Jan 21, 2024 Version: 2.81
OS: Windows 10 Ease of use: 7/10
Functionality: 9/10
Value for money: 9/10
Overall: 8/10
Actually really easy to use for a command-line program, since it can take a bunch of different input formats and can process whole directories.
The amount of other stuff you have to download is substantially frustrating, even if it's necessary; I blame Apple, even if they made the actual encoder this wraps around.

Ease of use hard for those not in the know. Easy for those that do!
https://www.videohelp.com/software/Audiograbber
Use it as an external encoder as you would for fdk(in above link Audiograbber help is given how), and in this case you would use QuickTime 2.68(or newer 2.69 from Videohelp) which you can get 2.68 below in bottomlink if for whatever reason you prefer it.
Enter command lines as per QuickTime command line options. Use AudioGrabber to encode your Wave file to aac via Quicktime. In Audacity it would be similar I'd imagine? You can get external encoder files below link.

Even though I hate bloatware, installing the Apple Application Support stuff is not much worse than having Java or .Net Framework 2.0 on your HDD.
This CLI front-end does work, and this post means a big Thank-You to the author.
