Great tool, if the author adds support for removing subtitle and audio streams too, then its close to a 10/10.

The easiest tool to remove everything you don't want. I use it to remove trailers, storyboard comparisons, picture galleries, copyright information screens, company logos and any other thing that I don't need. Quite often I remove so much extra's I don't even need to re-encode the movie.
After going thtough the copy with this program I still have menuscreens and keep only the extra's I want. It uses Ifo Edit to rewrite the IFO's so it's like the extra baggage was never there.
Great program, it does need DVD-Encrypter and IfoEdit too though

Well, I got the latest release which is free and frankly I am impressed. I was able to succesfully deconstruct a pretty complex mutli-PGC movie a la the Matrix into 2 disks. Reading the guide (listed in first comment) will help a lot for this task, the key piece of prior knowledge is understanding how DVD content is organized. After that, it's just down to how lazy you are. F'rinstance, using the splitter guide, I was able to configure the title split in about 2 minutes, then hit process. All features available on 2 DVD's both very slightly over capacity, but I could easily get 100% quality on the movie and 90%+ on the extras/menues using Nero Recode, I'm sure DVDShrink would work just as well. Using the stripper aspect instead of the split in conjunction with menu mod, you could probably recover more space after your first split.
I felt so guilty getting this tool for free, I donated some money. This could easily blow other 1:1 backup solutions out of the water, although the market would be a little bit limited because to use it, you need to be a little bit technical. But for this kind of work, I think this is unavoidable in a universal solution.
My only wish is that they could eliminate relying on DVDDeCrypter. But the price is right.
I felt so guilty getting this tool for free, I donated some money. This could easily blow other 1:1 backup solutions out of the water, although the market would be a little bit limited because to use it, you need to be a little bit technical. But for this kind of work, I think this is unavoidable in a universal solution.

First of all, I would like to thanks the author to make this tool freeware. Because of this, the tool is rewarded 1 extra pt. to each category.
So far, I have not tried DVDStripper with a DVD with a complex menu structure yet (i.e. For example, CloneDVD choke on Treasure Planet), but for now, here are my observation:
1. Not very user-friendly, but comparing to IFOEdit, this tool save me lots of time, and so it go extra point for it.
2. Does not process your already ripped DVD on disk, it has to rip from the DVD reader. So if you make a mistake not turn-on the backup option, you have restart the process over by re-ripping again from the reader.
3. DVDStripper used lots of disk space, and here's why:
- Because it rip to a special VOB file structure so it can use later with IFOEdit. So you will need at least 7-8.5 GB for a DVD-9 ripping (i.e. for a DVD-5 you wouldn't need this tool anyway)
- After processing your files, and if the outcome is less than 4.37GB, then you wouldn't need any more disk space. But if it's not, then you have to use DVDShrink (or other transcoding tools), so you need at least another 4.37GB. And that's without the backup option turn-on.
So in total, you probably need about 15-20GB of diskspace.
Overall, it's quite an useful tool, once I figured out its quirks.

i tend to aggree with the above comments.its not total rubbish but its far from user friendly.you have to use the right version of dvd decrytor etc to get it to work properly.i may have bought it but i'll not be using it again and you can't even strip out audio and subtitles using it!

I bought this thinking it was a easy point and click solutions for removing items. It is not. You still have to know what each file is by playing each and every one until you have it figured out.
Ignore the posts about it being a $$ pay for program. The author did the work and has the right to charge for it. It's most likely the users who expect everything in life for free who complain. :)
I'm still learning it and have made several successful backups. The program works perfect with no glitches that I can see. Worth the $$ so far. Once I learn how to use it and learn DVD structure better, I would most likely give it a higher score.

If you are expecting a one-click "idiot-proof" solution then you will be disappointed. If you are looking for an easier way to accomplish a difficult task, then this it. While you still need to think ahead about what you want to strip, and the consequences thereof, DVDStripper will complete the task with no muss and no fuss.
If you think DVDStripper can be replaced by DVDShrink then you have missed the boat entirely. The two products perform completely different functions and complement each other well.

I cannot believe people are not recommeinding this tool, It does what it says and more! and leaves the rest behind when it comes to reauthoring a DVD. I get full dvd compliancy everytime and they play fine in my standalones

Does exactly what it says on the tin. The devopers seem to have taken a bit of flak on release of this software because they had the cheek to charge for it and not make it free. Now all that silly fuss seems to have died down, support has been excellent for me from first release til now not that I have really needed any for problems as this tool has done it's job with no glitches so far but that said comunication has been spot on and prompt. Easy to use (only had to read instructions once on first DVD processed) and the compatibility of the resulting DVDR backups has been 100% so far.
