Neither verified. The 2X had serious issue's with Artifacts, blocks, etc when playing on a set top player (Apex AD-703)
The 1X disk had fewer issues, but I'm concerned that it failed a verify.

These burn at 2x on my sd-r5002 but are unreadable at the end of the disk. if your not using the disk to the outside edge they may work for you. idea tech sent me some replacements they did the same. I would avoid using these disk on the sd-r5002.they may say they are maxells but they of low quiality.they may seem like a good deal for the price but you will waste your money sending them back.idea tech has been very helpful but that doesnt make the disk any good for my burner. it may be ok for other burners and speeds and data sizes .

Beware! Please stay away from these Unbranded MAXELL's!

I was in the market for Ritek G03's. But the Ritek's where sold out every where. At Meritline, which I think is the same as supermediastore, had these unbranded MAXELL's at 30% off, which comes to $1.30 each. I jumped on it because I had success with branded Maxell's purchased at staples and I ordered a 125 pack. Big mistake.

Firstly, the disks where badly made with sharp edges and felt flimsy. Burn was unsuccesfull because Gear DVD could not finalize the disk. But I still was still able to play it on my sony DVD player(s360). It played with a lot of pixilation and stutter. I am sending them back.

Haven't been able to write more than 4.2GB without getting "unable to finish lead-out" error in nero but all discs play fine. Also I haven't tried 2x burning. After bad experience with skipping at outside edges with other brand media on my standalones I decided to not even try it. These work fine at 1x.

Listed as 1x media on the CompGeeks site, but the media code is MXL RG01 and my Pioneer 104 and A04 both recognize it as 2x media. I've burned 25 pieces at 2x with no coasters and the discs read in everything I've tried; DVD-ROM or set-top box. I have listed the specific set-top models I know, but I've had 100% success in a number of cheap-o RCA set-tops and the Initial portables.

I question whether this is really Maxell media??

My jewel case Maxell's work great. I thought these would work too but no luck here! You can see right through these light purple dye dvds. The edges are sticky too from the excess glue where the dvds halves are pressed together.

I bought these thinking they were Maxell dvds??

I've tried Prassi PrimoDVD, GearPro 6.03, and DVDdecrypter as burning programs on 2x speed. All programs reported a successful burn but no dvd players would recognize the dvds and the pc burner wouldn't either. I even tried an ISO and an A/V TS folders but still no luck. Both the ISO and TS folders work fine with Ritek and Maxell (jewel case) dvds so I know they are good.

I did try a 1x burn and was somewhat successful on playback but the picture was choppy and pixellated and finally gave me a "C13 dirty disc" error.

I'm sending these back! May work for others... try at your own risk an don't buy the 100 pack like I did!
