Warning! I had previously got a 50-pack from Shop4Tech about two months back, and was extremely pleased. I didn't have a single problem with any standlone player I tried. I eagerly ordered a 100-pack recently, but so far the first 5 of 5 have all failed miserably. The lead-in data matches for both packs, so I can't blame the vendor, but it looks like perhaps they were manufactured with a different process, or at a different plant. The ones that worked 100% for me have a ring (location?) code of E6-6L printed on the inner ring, while the ones that failed 100% have a ring code of E6-5L printed on the inner ring. Of course there is no way to tell what you are getting when you make an order, as they are still sold as "Ritek PrimeDisc", but I will be more cautious next time, and probably order only 25 at a time. Looks like I just lost some decent change on the 100-pack :-(

Poor replacement for my Verbatim and Pioneer discs. Have burned 3 of a 25 spindle (white top/purple bottom) and have been unable to burn them right through. All have ended in write errors that fail to finalize the disc, making them unusable in my DVD players (Apex AD-600 and AD-1500). Using Pioneer A05 with 1.00 firmware. Have also tried Stomp Recordnow Max 4.5, but the media caused an error 86% of the way into the burn. Might work for data if under 4 Gig. Will have to try some experiments...

After hearing lots of great things about this media and success at 2x I decided to buy 50 of them. Unfortunetly I've had poor results at 2x and burnt a few coasters. My only choice now is to use 1x.
I read somewhere that the ones with location code E5, work great at 2x, but the ones with E6 (like mine) do not. So it sounds like luck of the draw.

Hypermicro ripped me off on these disks. If you bought from hypermicro, be sure to double check the media ID - I got 25 supposed "RITEK DVD-R MEDIA MEDIA ID RITEKG03", which turned out to be (gag) Vivastar instead. Prehapse this is why some who have bought from hypermicro report that this media doesnt burn at 2x.

These Riteks do a strange thing in my Panasonic E30: after I press record...the whole machine turns off. Then I have to let the machine "recover" when I turn it back on, eject the problem disc, insert the same disc, and it works fine! Aggravating, but, the discs do play on just about anything when finalized.

Great media, zero issues so far. I purchased 25 as a test batch, now I'm thinking of ordering 100, my expensive media days are over it seems. However I'm only burning at 1x as the current offical firmware does not support 2x burning, and personally I only use offical firmwares.

For those who use Ritek or Primco brand media, AVOID UPDATING TO FIRMWARE 1.32, as you will lose the ability to burn at 2x. Only Firmware 1.31 gives you the 2x compatibility on A04 drives with Ritek brand media. I tried telling Pioneer this problem, but they are trying to tell me that it is a software issue, but if that is the case, I have (4) different authoring software programs, and they are all messed up with this latest firmware. So if it is a software issue, I find that pretty hard to believe. I will try contacting them again and speak to the department that actually writes the firmware, and maybe they will understand there mistake and fix it with a 1.33 version.
