I did this: NOTE: No on-screen confirmation appears. Just follow the steps and hope it works for you like it did for me. Find your current region code first ( see below ) before beginning procedure. - Remote > Power On - Menu page appears - Remote > Repeat Button - Remote > Enter Current Region Code ( see below to match to your region ) Region codes: 1- 29334 2- 57538 3- 56732 4- 76884 5- 53814 6- 24462 If you're not sure about your region code, look up your number on the box the player came in or there are maps on the Internet that also indicate which one is where. http://www.world- import.com/world_region_code_map.htm - 1 or 2 second pause after entering your region code. - Remote > Enter 9 - Remote > open tray - Remote > close tray - Remote > power off - Remote > power on Then the disk played fine. | |||

When using the suppled remote this hack didn't work for me. Player is region 2. Tried other codes which also did not work. Tried without opening and closing draw as suggested on other sites. | |||

This hack doesn't work for me, even if I power off completely, rather than standby mode. I too tried without open/close tray and with full power off, but have no success. I wonder if this only applies to the original motherboard status on purchase, and if you've applied any later Samsung updates, this hack has been blocked. Looking for other suggestions please!!!!
