change region codes: 1)Power on, 2) without inside of the DVD player and using the remote control press the SETUP button, Press the right key on the remote 3 times, The preference page will show up, press 9653, 3) Use the up and down key to select the Region, Select 0 for all regions. ---- 0: All Regions 1: U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories 2: Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East (including Egypt) 3: Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong) 4: Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean 5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia 6: China 7: Reserved 8: Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.) | |||

Follow the same procedure as for Shinco SDP 1850 (posted by LaoTseu91, February 27 2006): 1) On the remote control type "SETUP" button 2) Select "PREFERENCES" in the menu with 3) Validate it with the button "OK" 4) Enter the code : "224455" 5) With the direction keys type: a) Left key : < (Nothing happens) b) Down key : v (a menu appears on the screen with all region) 6) Select the Region : 0 (all) with the direction keys 7) Validate it with the button "OK" 8) Finish the process by typing the "SETUP" button. | |||

Verification- Just a few minutes ago, I applied, tried and verified the hack posted above by user pool7. It Works! My Insignia NS-PDVD10 now plays UK Reg 2 DVD's as I've wanted it to since purchase in Sept. 07. Just be sure the machine is powered on, with DVD hatch closed & empty, and follow the instructions. Note that you will see nothing happen when the numbers 224455 are entered, ditto on the left arrow. But when that gray "Region" rectangle appears after the 2nd arrow entry, you'll know success is almost at hand! The only thing I did differently: I used the "0" number key on the remote for a direct entry of "0"(on my player, direction keys didn't seem to alter the Region number), then closed out as per instructions.
