Description (from the manufacturer site)
Instant DVD for Mac is a fun, fast and easy way to get DVD and VCD video into your Macintosh so you can archive your home movies to disk or record back to VCR. Instant DVD for Mac is an external device that connects to your USB port and enables the capture of video in the proper compression format to create a Video CD or DVD disk.

Instant DVD allows the capture of video from any video source including your camcorder, VCR, DVD player, DirectTV, Tivo or Replay PVR or laser disk player. Just connect the video cables to the RCA or S-VHS jacks on Instant DVD and you are ready to digitize and compress the video in real time. Once captured you can publish movies to VideoCD or DVD disk, post on the Internet or send the video back to a VCR or camcorder for distribution on Tape.

USB Instant DVD for Mac captures video from any video device in state-of-the-art MPEG-2 DVD format, which produces smooth, high-quality movies. With video in DVD format transferred to your Mac, you can:

Features:
Burn to a DVD-Recordable or CD-Recordable drive
Archive home movies and video tapes
Import captured videos into DVD Studio Pro with included plug-in
Capture video and author DVD software from Pixela
Play burned CD-R or DVD-R movies on most set-top DVD players
