DivX Pro encoder (6.5.1) running under Dr DivX (2.0.OSS) allows direct encoding to .divx from a DVD .VOB with multiple (and selectable) audio & subtitles. This alone makes it a great tool.
My only real criticism is that the bitrate seems to be limited to 4000Kbps, although I cannot find direct confirmation of this in the literature.
