Tested on several camcordered mini dvds [so cant comment on multi audio, menus etc]
When there was a small vob clip and a long vob clip, vob2mpg would merge the small and long clips into one mpg. It didnt bother me as such but i would bear it in mind if i were to use this tool on a dvd [like adverts, warnings etc]
All mpgs end results = no problems whatsoever i.e. no audio synchs etc and playable in various players such as wmp and vlc.
Problem [After i burnt my dvd full of vob2mpg converted mpgs]
When playing on my standalone dvd player [that supports divx, mpegs etc] there was no audio, video only. Thinking that it maybe my dvd player, i tried the same disc on a different stndalone dvd plyer [that too supports divx, mpgs etc] and again there was no audio. I tried several mpgs but all gave me no audio.
So i played some of the original mini dvds in both my players and there was audio! [so i knew the problem was whilst converting]
The audio for the original mini dvds and the resulting dvd were ac3. I know for a fact my two standalone players can play ac3.
I'm now left with having to find another way of converting my vobs or start demuxing. All in all, this tool is good. Fast and easy to use BUT for the above audio problem. |
