I updated to 3.1.0.14 from 3.08 I think my old version was, it was 3.*8 something, anyway, this one transcodes avi files about 40% slower. On the old version I used it probaly at least 3 times a week to make a DVD with 3 700 mb avi files and it would take 1.5 hrs consistently, this one is taking 2.5, it mayt be that I had some options turned on in the old version but it doesn't seem like it, also there's no option to not create a menu like there was in the old one. The only plus, and you may consider it a big one, that I've seen so far is that it responds and properly aborts during hte transcoding phase, which the old one would never do, I always had to reboot(couldn't even kill it with win task mgr) though the transcoding would stop, the app wouldn't. I have a p4 3.4C 800 mhz fsb 1 gig corsair XMS DDR 400. |
