Produces very good DVD output with a minimum of hassle and good speed. Ability to encode AC3 audio is a big plus.
Only real weaknesses are:
a. no batch mode;
b. can't Suspend or Hibernate computer during encoding;
c. occasional audio sync problems (albeit from input files of dubious quality) with no way to correct them;
d. no way to automatically normalize audio volume (just a crude manual volume adjustment), and
e. installation issues that sometimes occur.
For those esperiencing problems, I recommend the following steps:
1. Complete removal of *all* Ahead Nero software.
2. Use *all* of the Nero Clean Tools (on the Ahead website at Downloads -> Tools) to *completely* clean the system.
3. New clean install of Nero and NeroVision Express. I recommend version 6.6.0.8 and 3.1.0.0 respectively (rather than the later 6.6.0.12 and 3.1.0.0d). |
