I love Emby! I think the developers and support team are great. BUT they don't know when to stop adding to a Beta and make it a stable release. Look at that changelog. That's ridiculous! They could have released it as a stable many, many months ago, but they just keep on adding new features to it. It'd be one thing if they were just correcting bugs in an earlier feature in 4.9.x.x, but No, it is mostly new features added to an already bloated changelog. How can any beta tester test all these new features fully? Something (er, a lot of something) is going to slip through the cracks. I've done my fair share of beta-testing in my day, but I won't go anywhere near an Emby beta. They've just added too much that can go wrong. They need to beta test like most other programs - add a few new features and fixes, beta test it, release as stable, rinse and repeat. |
