I downloaded the trial version and played with it for 30 minutes, and it appears quite intuitive and easy to use. I decided to try and edit a 2 hour movie I had recorded on my stand-alone recorder, and the program indicated it would be best to copy the contents of the dvd+rw to the hard drive to work with. It got about half way through copying the +rw disc and then froze up. My computer wouldn't respond at all, so I was forced to do a hard reset. Upon restarting Windows XP, I get an error message that a system file is corrupted and WinXP cannot start.
I get out my WinXP system disc in hopes of being able to fix the problem, but to no avail. Consequently, I was forced to re-install WinXP along with everything else.
I've been running WinXP for 2 years, and have never had anything cause a serious enough of a crash that the system couldn't fix the problem itself.
I really want to like this program, but after all the work it has created for me (including a week's worth of financial data lost because I hadn't backed up in a while - aaaarrgghh), I am obviously hesitant to give it another try. |
