I have been using BurnAware since the earliest versions years and years ago always upgrading to a new free version when it became available..I think maybe about 3 or 4 upgrades ago a very nasty backdoor rootkit has gotten into all my desktops and laptops and after many months I finally figured where it comes from..Anyone that has installed this program knows upon completion it connects to the authors websight,,and you cannot stop it from doing so,,where he thanks you for downloading and installing BurnAware..I am pretty sure the author does not know that some lowlife for lack of a better word has quietly attached this horrid backdoor virus that (windows sees as normal files and then protects them)..Anyone that battles viruses as I have knows what rootkits are all about they are brutally effeciant and will slowly and quietly destroy your O.S..Thankfully after months spent on this I have figured this out and purged it from all of my computers..Sadly though I can never trust or use this program again.. |
