Visual MP4/MOV Time Stamp (vMTS) is a tool to add date and/or time stamp to the captured MP4/MOV/video files. The MP4/MOV video files have the time codes embedded in the files, such time codes are stored in the video files when they are recorded. But the time codes are not visible when you view the MP4/MOV files. When you use video edit tools to convert the MP4/MOV files to other files, the time codes get lost. By using vMTS, the time codes are extracted from the MP4/MOV files and superimposed onto the videos. This way the date/time will be visible when you view the stamped file, consequently other files made out of the stamped files will have date/time displayed. MP4/MOV format is used by iPhone, GoPro camcorders, and digital cameras made by Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic, etc. Such video files have 'mp4' or 'MOV' file extension.

This program didn't work for me at all. It does not read the data code in my video files and then generates random times/years for the videos. It stamped a time and date in 1970 on a video I recently shot on the 1st December 2018. I then had to calculate how many decades, years, months, days, hours, minutes and seconds I had to add/subtract in the time adjustment menu in order to get the correct time and date on the video. Took me ages just for one video! This is ludicrous. Why can't it simply read the data from the video file and do all that for me? 1970? Are you kidding me? When I watch the same video on the handy cam I took the footage with, it displays the correct date and time via the handy cam's data code function. The data with time and date is embedded in the video. Why can't this program access this embedded data? I suppose the rest is fine - you can adjust font settings and locations of the time stamp and stamp multiple files in one go. But if it can't get the time and date right without a massive amount of help from the user, what's the point? Complete waste of money.

Outstanding application that fixes an annoying problem with software provided by device manufacturers.

And for the hard of thinking..... a time and date stamped video is crucial for users working in law enforcement and surveillance/private investigation etc. This great app is a lifeline to anyone who needs to present video with a clear date and time stamp visible on the footage.

i have downloaded the trial version and love it, its easy to use and does what it says on the tin.

The sad thing is i need it to put a timestamp on GoPro footage which it seems is too complicated for an industry leading brand name to achieve either on device or in their own editing suite even though the cheap copies of the device do it.

Have now ordered a product key to get rid of the the "trial" watermark and all being well it will save me the agrovation of putting the GoPro on ebay and buying a cheaper copy of the device that does do what i need.

Top Marks to DTS8888 for a great fix to a problem that should not exist.

Shame on you GoPro for such a stupid ommission from the product spec

I cannot fathom why on gods earth anyone would want to decode and re-encode their videos to permenantly render the timcode directly into the image and therefore molest their recordings. This is a bizzare useless tool IMO.
