run perfectly,i have burned about 20 disc and haven t got any problem,i used philip dvd-r x8,tdk dvd+r x4,memorex dvd+rw x4,fuji dvd+rwx4 all the disc run good, two kind of dvd rw work good but i think the memorex is better so far i ve written on them 5-6 and they are still working good, the only problem is the drive cant read a movie it can read before(not the burned one)but when i tried the disc on 3 other dvd player 2 sony 1 rca they read it perfecectly beside since i ve installed it the starting time for the computer is pretty longer than before, in general it run pretty good and the reading problem is considered as the disc quality problem

Burned a few Ridata -R disks already with DVD-Shrink and DVD Decrypter. Worked flawlessly so far. Movies played fine in the Pioneer player. Drive installed in a Dell Optiplex GX260 w/o hassle.

I have been trying to get the thing installed into a dell 4300 dimension for the past 4 days and still no luck. Windows see's the drive but will not read any media including music, dvd(matrix), software, or blank media. But my computer system bios see's the drive as a unknown device. If anyone has any comments to this on how to fix it i would love a email

Writes to DVD+R (Fuji 4x, Maxell 4x, Verbatim8x) but cannot read using either of two Mintek 1600 players for a variety of disks. DVD-R(OPTODISCR004) and DVD+RW(Verbatim) disks CAN be read using Mintek 1600. Sony support does NOT have any answer!
