Had this drive over twelve months now. I use clonedvd with the Anydvd patch, along with Arita 2.4x +R disks. I haven't found a DVD player that they wont play on, yet ..... Tried them in alsorts of makes list too long to mention
Excellent drive is all I can say.

My drive came as a Buslink oem ( Memeorex sells the same drive) the Videostudio software sucks, as does the neo dvd. I hvaw the Ulead DVD movie creator, dowloaded the patches, works like a champ.

Couple of small software bugs, but works great. Now I have to buy aDVD player that the disks work on.

Just picked up this drive yesterday for $36 (after rebate). Backed up a couple of my DVD's (DVD-5 & DVD-9) with no problems at all. Using DVDShrink 2 and Nero 5.5.10. For the price, I couldn't pass it up. Good jump for me into the DVD+R/RW World.

I first bought this drive in december, the drive lasted 2 weeks before it developed a fault.I took it back and got the same drive as a replacement.my replacement drive also broke down 2 days ago, this time i asked for a refund.between the the 2 drives i only burned about 30 dvds.On my past expierence i advise anybody to stay clear of this dvd writer.I purchased the dvd-r/dvd+r sony dual format drive which is much better.

Brilliant! Had a problem with Nero, so used CopytoDVD instead to burn my DVD's. Works every time. No longer trial copy to RW first.

Absolute brilliance !

To the guy who last posted, i use Datawrite DVD+R's (the cheapest i can find anywhere) and they work 1st time every time.

I rip with Smartripper
I compress with DVD2one
I write with Nero 5.5

I don't even bother with DVD RW's because i know it will write first time everytime.

E-mail me if you have any problems after trying the above.

i just find one in Belgium (Makro) for 149 euro to replace my f*k
philips DVD+RW 208, included DVD+RW, DVD+R, CD-RW, CD-R, and a lot
of software.

Great stuff

Bought this drive from PC-World and found it to be a good reliable drive so far. Only written DVD+RWs and cdrs. The DVD+RW play fine in my old Pioneer DV-515.

This is a great burner. I've burnt over 30 DVD+R (Verbatim) movies without a hitch on my Mac Dual 800 G4, OS X 10.2.3 using Roxio Toast 5.2. The disks played flawlessly on 2 standalone Panasonic, and a Sony DVD player.

The only issue is the Superdrives (Pioneer 104's) in the newer Macs can't read the DVD+R media.

This is just the most amazing drive I've seen... :) Ignore the bundled software. Would you pay another $50 to get something else? I wouldn't, since I already have great softies.

but the rebadged memorex justlink model from E-bay for $225, didnt install any of the software, using dvdx copy and nero, this thing is the bomb, between x copy and nero it takes 45min to copy/burn double if the dvd needs 2 blanks, still not bad. have not used the cd burning cause i got a 24x liteon for that, this thing has made great palyable dvds from verbatim, memorex and ricoh, dvd +r and +rw,
havent flashed it yet and not sure i will. highly reccomend it after about 2 mos i cant find a flaw.

I have not had any problems with this drive.

It will copy/write all I throw at it and I'm only using a PIII450.

I would highly recommend this to anyone and the price is so cheap..
