I've had this DVD writer for about 8 months. I bought it from Comp Geeks (compgeeks.com). I've got to tell you that this burner is GREAT! I've had absolutly no problems with it. I've burned DVD-R,DVD+R and DVD+RW and they all look and perform Great! I've also used it to burn music onto CD's and, again, worked Great. I use Imation and Vervatim DVD's as my medium and both perform equally well.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this burner.

I bought this unit as an inexpensive replacement for my 4x dvd writer. Out of the box, it had issues, but after patching it with the latest firmware it worked beautifully with no issues so far. I may be wrong but I think this model does not support bitsetting. I've used it to burn my home movies using Sonic MyDVD and also to back-up DVDs using DVD Decrypter/DVD Shrink.

Bought this at Newegg pretty cheap. This is my first DVD burner. I got frustrated at first because I couldn't get Verbatim 4X DVD+R to work on my Panasonic RV32 player but they worked on the other players...even the Playstation 2. I bought Maxell DVD-R 4X to see if it made a difference. After burning the same movies to the Maxell DVD-R, they work in the Panasonic player too. Looks like the Panasonic doesn't like DVD+R discs.

I bought this from Computer Geeks for $61.00 and have been extremely satisfied. Usually with any burner I'll average 1 coaster to 5 good burns. So far I haven't had one coaster and Nero seems to love this burner. Really burns and finalizes CDR's fast. I haven't tried all types of DVD's yet but DVD+R and DVD+RW's have not failed to burn yet.

I have had this drive for about a week, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! I have been burning with OptoDisk 8X and they burn in about 8 mins each. I purchased an external enclosure (USB2/Firewire) and run it from my laptop (2.66ghz P4) I have not had a single problem so far. WORTH THE PRICE! I purchased mine from NewEgg for $67.00, much cheaper than the $100.00 listed here. Take a look, you won't be disappointed!
