I got a spindle of 50 from Media-Madness that were white and I got a spindle of 50 from Opus with a silver top.
I burned some with the white on top on a Pioneer A05 and found the dvdwriter wouldn't take them.
Also some would burn at 2x and others just at 1x no matter what you set the speed at.
I nearly threw the failed ones (about 10) away when I got my current Sony burner and that one had no problem with the DVD's that failed in the Pioneer, in fact it burned them all at 2x as well as the ones with the silver on top, without any failure. Every burned DVD worked on my computer, my DVDplayer and my Xbox
