Is there no hope for this player?

Okay, its not a complete hack, but its a start.

Using a PDA with TVremote control install, I used a Awia ccf file found here: http://www.remotecentral.com. Now I press the program tab followed by the clock tab. At this point you should see a Servo Adjust completed sign. Now hit the sleep button, this should give a Completed Cold Start.... Current Ver: XXXXXX:XX:XXXXX Region Code: 9. Well this is as far as I get because even this far a region 2 disk will not play. I must be missing a step, so perhaps someone can help as well.

1.) No disc in machine.
2.) Power On.
3.) Use remote, and press REPEAT (not Repeat A-B)
4.) Then, use the arrow keys in this order:
UP DOWN RIGHT LEFT
5.) A little 2 (or 1 / your region) will appear
6.) Use up key to change to change this to 9 (multi-zone)
7.) Press REPEAT A-B (Not repeat)
8.) Happy Watching!!!

Sorry dvdoctor, your method does not work. Anyway, I figure how to make this DVD region free, but still having trouble with the TV system. Anyway, to make it region free is fairly simple, just follow these steps. (A PDA with TVremote control software or an Awia CD remote with a clock tab on is needed.)

1. Download this ccf and upload it to your PDA: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/fi ... al_pro.zip

2. Start TVremote control on your PDA and load the ccf file.

3. In the Audio/CD/TAPE locate the clock tab and hit it.

4. You should now see a Servo Adjust completed sign.

5. Insert a different region DVD which should give a wrong TV system display instead of the region code error message. If it still gives the region code error message then simply follow the above steps.

6. Once you get Check your TV system message, do nothing untill the DVD player turns off on its own. It will go first give you a DVD display, followed by a screensavers, and finally turning its self off. By doing this step, it will save the region code into memorey thus eliminating the need to repeat the above steps. Sometimes, however, when you turn the player on again, you may get the select langauge display which brings the DVD player back to default settings in which case you have to repeat the above steps.

Well, now we need to solve this TV system problem, so any body willing to help would be greatly appreciated.

Still can't figure out why Samsung doesn't unofficially give us a little hand. Can't hurt them in any, instead may actually help them with the Chineese competition who can care less about TV systems, region codes.....
