Abandon-ware or not, hands down this is the best, most reliable method I have used to generate good quality DVD's from avi files. A choice of 2 encoding engines (I prefer HCEnc), auto-calculation of the optimum bitrate to fill a blank DVD to capacity and the ability to add a simple menu if you have multiple avi files make FAVC a winner.
