i've only tried Kantaris on a Windows 7 64 Bit System is noticeably just like vlc, and comes with the exact same pros and cons. well actually it doesn't crash as much as vlc on 64.
Kantaris on Windows 7 64 Bit PROS:
-plays almost anything.
-works like a charm on music and playlists in general.
-plays most video files without any problems. (just like vlc)
-nice look to it. (better than vlc)
Kantaris on Windows 7 64 Bit CONS:
-fails on mkv files, after trying out boat loads of codecs i finally got it to work, but it wasn't easy. and even now it sometimes gives me complications with some mkv files. (just like vlc)
-no custom screen size adjustment. (just like vlc)
-skips some subtitle entries, and some it even plays faster than it's supposed to. (just like vlc)
-occasional crash. (just like vlc)
-some videos actually have the black borders on the side, which you can't get rid of while not playing the videos in full screen. |
