Software: DVD Flick
User review: Until two years ago I had been using the crap Roxio Creator/MyDVD Combo that came with my Dell Dimension 9150. (I concluded that Sony and Dell gave it away because no sane person would want to buy it...) Then I purchased WinAVI VideoConverter Version 1.7 and, despite it getting some bad press, I never had any big problems and was quite pleased with it/thought it value for money. It was fast and authored video was satisfactory.

About three months ago I discovered and downloaded DVD Flick Version 1.306.0.734. Wow! It's hard to believe it's free. Unless you are a professional - which I'm not, you couldn't want anything better. Although it's about 40% slower than the WinAVI I was using, the speed is still good, the authored video is much better, and it has many additional features. I compared end results with DVD burns done by a relative with Nero and couldn't see a differnce. If the following problems could be fixed it would be perfect:

1. At startup and when running it randomly accesses the floppy drive. (Yes, I paid extra to have a floppy drive in my PC!) And DVD flick still randomly accesses the FDD after it is closed until I reboot the PC.
2. Drains the PC even though it has a 2.8GHZ CPU, FSB of 800 Mhz and 2GB RAM.(Other applications will hardly start when it's running.)

Still, a very big thanks to the people who made it.
What's wrong?*:
