I've been using 1by1 since 1.7x (a long time ago), and I was intrigued by the low rating this small player has on VideoHelp. Of course it's always subjective when you rate an application, but I don't see what can be hold against this extremely small player (180 KB). Taking in consideration it's lilliputian size and resources consumed, you can't compare it with the major players: it doesn't sound like foobar2000, it doesn't have all the features of AIMP or of the veteran Winamp (although Winamp's 2.x plugings are compatible), but for it's purpose (to play audio files - mp3, ogg, wma,... and also audio CD) it does it's job just fine. I recommend it on older PCs for its very low resources consumed, for those who don't want no fancy features (which I don't know how many really are using) and a very intuitive interface, and ease of use. It's also portable, and recommended to put it on a mp3 CD (just in case there's no other player available). |
