Can't beat this for what it is;a simple video capture and editing program. I have been using successfully for 3 weeks to capture minidv footage off of camcorder and also old vhs-c footage through the digital pass through. Works great to capture and then edit home movies(i.e. add transitions, titles). I followed several suggestions to use TMPGEnc to encode to mpeg, which provided better results than Studio. I also made menus with both Studio and the trial version of TMPGEnc and have found TMPGEnc better for that as well. I have also been using Goldwave to edit the low quality audio I get from the vhs-c tapes. Overall, this system of Studio, TMPGEnc and Goldwave has worked out well. No program seems to do everything well, so find a good combination and go. By the way, I have an AMD and ASUS and have had zero program crashes, but some conficts with other capture programs I tried to load (when removed, Studio worked perfectly again). |
