The hack is the same used for the DVDR 610. It worked on my DVDR 615/37 bought at Circuitcity on Aug/05. Anyway, you MUST have a pocket PC or palm and download a remote control software that supports macros, then you make the Pocket PC "record" the sequence from Philips remote and after that you can hack your 615 using the Pocket PC. I already hacked two 615's and could play region 4 and region 1 discs with no problem. I used my Dell Axim X30 and trial version of Vito remote control software. You can try without the pocket PC, but you need very fast fingers. 1: Turn on the 610 from the front panel, Do NOT open the disc tray 2: On the 610 Remote, press the blue button, then play then 159, then 121212005255, then play then standby. 3: Enjoy multiregion viewing! Please note, the buttons must be pressed quickly or the hack will not work. You should see the numbers 121212005255 on the front panel display briefly if the hack has been input correctly. | |||

I just sucessfully applied the hack and wanted to clarify the instructions. Alabama's instructions work fine (vdemon's has a typo). The correct instructions are: On front panel: 1.On On remote: 2.Blue button 3.Play 4.159 5.121212005255 6.Play 7.Standby I applied the hack using a programmable remote control with a macro playback function. The pre-recorded commands were sent at 0.5sec intervals each. The unit did display the number from step 5 on it's LCD display, but no confirmation appeared on the TV screen. After the last step, the unit goes to sleep and when it is powere back up acts as a R0 player. I tested it with some R2 & R4 discs and they all played fine. | |||
