Indeed, Handbrake lacks a few options for a decent x264 configuration, like compression level, maximum number of consecutive b-frames and probably a few more. Luckily, Handbrake enables the user to alter the command line and thus making use of missing options ('--level n' to specify compression level; '--bframes n' to to specify maximum number of b-frames at once).
