0.9.5 Still has the stutter issue,
All the issues that have been resolved since 0.9.4, but the most important one has been ignored,
Try converting an episode of TNG, DS9 or Voyager,
Even with VFR, without it, or any other setup (PAL Source), the stutter is always there,
Especially on large panning screens,
This is an issue that has plagued Handbrake for a considerable amount of time, and I’m sorry to say, but 0.9.5 has still not remedied this issue, in fact I don't see any improvement from 0.9.4 to 0.9.5,
I have heard that VFR works quite well on NTSC source, but I can't comment on that side of things, but for PAL sources, the problem is severe, and very hard to miss,
Staxrip, Xvid4PSP, AutoGK, Fairuse Wizard, and avi.NET do not exhibit this issue,
but strangely enough all of the programs mentioned use DGIndex and AVISynth, yet Handbrake is the only one of it's kind, it doesn't seem to utilize these programs, rather the x264 CLI it uses seems to take on these roles, (I’m not saying that this is why Handbrake has this stutter problem, but it does seem strange how Handbrake seems to be the only one that exaggerates the stutter effect, a lot of sci-fi TV programs has this issue, but Hanbrake seems to make the stutter effect so prominent, where as the other converters out there try to minimize the stutter effect, some does better jobs than others, but most are on even PAR in regards to the job they do, but Hanbrake makes the stutter problem worse by far, in some cases to the point where the end result of video is unwatchable because of the frustration it causes to the individual watching the finale result produced by Handbrake)
Why HASN'T this issue been resolved once and for all, so much time and effort that has been done on 0.9.5 release, and this horrible long time problem has still not been addressed,
Personally I don't understand why Handbrake just doesn't use the power of Visit and DGIndex
like all other converters out there, most of the good ones mentioned above does, and they all do a wonderful job, and all have a great reputation for quality!!
