Absolutely ridiculous direction this is heading. Look at the changelog of header compression bugs. Anyone with a WDTV Live player steer clear of any new releases and just remux with 4.0.0 (last one with no compression on by default). 4.1.0 was decent but 4.2.0 and 4.3.0 is nothing but massive headaches for WDTV Live players even after setting audio track to compression = none. Author says hell no he'll change it nor even offer a default preference to have it turned off. At this point even a firmware update won't fix this mess that's been created. Reminds me of hackers who refused to use terms for 'copy' and 'paste' cuz technically they aren't correct. Well that Linux GUI died cuz they were pure thick headed thugs. |
